2016 Summer Day Camps Guide: Traditional, Sports and Arts & Crafts Camps

Summer is around the corner and it's time to start thinking about summer camps. Here is a list of day camps in and around the Upper Valley. Space is limited so make sure you sign up as soon as possible.

Tradition Day Camp

Horizons Day Camp in Lake Fairlee, VT

Horizons is a day camp for girls and boys who live or vacation in the Upper Valley of the Connecticut River in Vermont and New Hampshire. Horizons offers three summer sessions of two weeks each, Monday through Friday, from late June through mid August. Campers may enroll in one, two or all three sessions. Horizons campers benefit from the same rich array of activities that children at the renowned sleep-away camps of The Aloha Foundation enjoy—then go home to bed at night, tired and happy. The camp’s exceptional recreational resources occupy 90 natural acres of river valley land on the quiet shores of beautiful Lake Fairlee. Camp Dragonfly at the Ray School (for kids entering grades 1-4)

Daily activities such as arts & crafts, games, sports, special events, day trips to Storrs Pond Recreation Area and so much more. $95 per week for Hanover residents and $150 for non-residents. Campers will need to provide their own lunches & snacks as well. Daily hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm; 1/2 and full days are optional. Runs all summer long from June to August. Hanover Rec 'Tween' Camp

A program that gives 'Tweens' a chance to explore & enjoy in Hanover while Swimming, Canoeing, participating in town tours and so much more. For campers entering 5th to 8th grade. From 8:30 am to 4:30 pm daily Monday through Friday. $100 per week for Hanover residents and $155 per week non-residents.





Treasure Island Adventure Camp

The City of Treasure Island’s Children’s Summer Camp is held from June 13, 2016 through August 5, 2016 for children, 5-13 years of age. Activities during the eight week program include arts, crafts, games, sports, movies, parties, guest speakers, entertainment, field trips, tennis and golf lessons and much more. Program hours are from 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday with Before Care 6:45am-7:45am, Aftercare 5:05pm-6pm, provided for an additional fee. Montshire Museum Summer Camp

The  Montshire Museum of Science is offering 13 different camps to choose from for preschoolers to 8th graders. From aquatic explorers, inventor workshops, nature adventures there are so many to choose from. Each camp is designed specifically for different adventures and all have different pricing options. Day Sports Camps

Hanover Golf Club Junior Golf Camp

Hanover Golf Club will host 3 day instructional golf camps from June to August. Will run Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays from 9 am to Noon. These camps will develop the ability of each individual golfer and their skills. Prices are $235 for one camper and $425 for two camps. Each camp is limited to 12 students with a 6 - 1 camper to professional ratio. Sign up today.



First Choice Riding Camp

with a variety of classes and camps to choose from Campers will be learn not only what goes into routine care for a horse, but also to note health issues, personality issues and how to manage them, and the daily expectations for horse ownership. The kids will have one mounted session during the day in lesson format with fun "extras" such as, but not limited to, games, bareback, trail riding, and showing. Buddy Teevens Football Camp

This camp is open for young men from 9th to 12th grade level as well as, post graduate. Working on skill levels and basics including kicking and punting. Campers will be instructed and evaluated by Dartmouth Coaches and other College coaches. Skill camps take place June 20, 21 and 27th as well as, July 11th. Coast for one day is $150 and for two days is $250 one meal (lunch) will be provided daily. For more information click here.


Coyote Hill Mountain Bike Day Camp at Storrs Pond

Day Campers will learn the basics of mountain biking and bike maintenance. The camps emphasize fun and include games, swimming and much more. Campers aged  8-12 with all   ability levels are welcome. Camp times are 9am - 4pm. June 27-July 1; July 4-8; August 8-12. Ages 8-12 and will cost $295. To register click here.

Arts, Theater & Technology Camps

 League of N.H. Crafstmen

League of N.H. Craftsman Summer Programs offer a full summers worth of classes with tons of activities from painting to pottery. Offering classes for age groups: Children (5 to 12 years), Youth (9 to 13 years) & Teens (12 and up). For a full list of prices and classes click here.





Theater Workshop at Loch Lyme Lodge

Join Faith Caitlin, Tucker Foltz and Caitin Glasgo in the barn by the lake. Creating an original work of art  which will be performed  July 22nd at 5pm and and improv workshop on July 25th-29th. Can participate for 1 week or the 2 weeks. Cost is $200.00. For more information click here.
