Treat Yourself To The Ultimate Day in Woodstock

Mar 19, 2021 11:30AM ● By Kaitlyn Malone
Experiencing the ultimate day in Woodstock this spring is easy. Even though some things are not yet completely open and some events are postponed, there are still lots of fun things to do and delicious places to eat at! While you should make sure to check visiting requirements due to Covid-19, here is what the ultimate day in Woodstock looks like! Once you arrive, your troubles will melt away.

After waking up in one of the amazing places to stay in Woodstock like The Woodstock Inn & Resort, you can enjoy your early morning coffee there at the Conservatory. Sip your coffee while you finish waking up, reading the newspaper, and looking out the window to appreciate the lovely surroundings!

Next, put on your scarf and a comfortable pair of shoes and take a stroll through town for breakfast! You can make your way to Soulfully Good Cafe see their menu here. Fill up with a delicious veggie frittata, a Belgian waffle, or a yogurt parfait. Or you can head to Mont Vert Cafe for French toast, among other things! See here.

Once you’ve finished satisfying your appetite; you're all ready to saunter back through town and pop into a store or two. Definitely hit up the Unicorn shop or one of the other delightful clothing stores along the way. For more info for the Unicorn gift store, see the link here.  But of course, make time to stop by the Yankee Bookshop, Vermont’s oldest independent bookstore. Peruse the pages and feel the history of the place. Pick an interesting novel and take it home with you!

It will be about 11 am, and you have the whole day ahead of you! After arriving back at the Woodstock Inn and Resort and you put your purchases in your room and get ready for a refreshing snowy walk or snowshoeing adventure. There are plenty of trails to choose from. See this link for different options www.woodstockvt.com/the-town/blog/3-of-our-favorite-serene-snowy-trails. I would recommend the Summit, MT PEG trail that you can access on Golf street in town. It’s about a two-and-a-half-mile hike where you get to absorb the tranquil surroundings of trees, birds, and foxes. At the top, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of Ottauquechee Valley, MT. Tom, and Billings Farm & Museum.

After returning from your outdoor adventure, you can head to The Worthy Kitchen for lunch! See their menu here. They have a variety of options, including sandwiches, burgers, seafood dishes, and craft beer!

After lunch, head to Billings Farm & Museum to check out what their springtime calendar has in store. Maybe there are some baby animals you can see!

Next, head back to your lodge and put your feet up for a bit. Schedule yourself a massage at the spa and get into the relaxing mode. You’ve earned it!

Once you are thoroughly refreshed, it’s time to change into your favorite outfit because you are headed to a fancy dinner! Although there are a plethora of amazing restaurants in Woodstock to choose from, you are headed to The Lincoln Inn & Restaurant At The Covered Bridge for a gourmet dining experience. You made a reservation for the Chef Tasting menu and expert wine pairing. Click here for more details.

After being dazzled by the phenomenal food and atmosphere at the Lincoln Inn, head back to the Inn. It has been a wonderful day, and now you are ready to slip into the hot tub with a mug of tea or possibly a glass of champagne. Then snuggle into bed with your book you got at the Yankee bookshop earlier that day. I don’t think it could get any better than that.
