Apr 14, 2024 11:38AM ● By Elise Renaud

This fall, the Dartmouth Football Stadium will be getting a new name in honor of Eugene F. “Buddy” Teevens ’79.

Teevens, the winningest coach in Dartmouth football history, died in September at the age of 66.

“As a coach, a colleague, a classmate, and a teammate, Buddy Teevens was a leader who encouraged people to perform at their best, not just on the football field but in life,” President Sian Leah Beilock said in a press release on the school’s website. “Naming the stadium for Buddy will help that legacy endure for generations to come.”

Buddy Teevens Stadium at Memorial Field will be officially dedicated in October. A celebration of life will be held on May 18 starting at 10 a.m. and is open to the public. Anyone who would like to attend is asked to register by May 16.
