Get outside and explore the beautiful fall colors by taking a hike or walking on one of the many beautiful trails in the Upper Valley.


Collette & Bicknell Trails

Near Enfield, NH, the Collette & Bicknell Trails is a 4.1-mile loop trail that is great for hiking and running. All Trails says the best times to visit this trail are January through November.


Harris Cabin to Moose Mountain

Near Etna, NH, this 4.1 mile trail that is popular for birding, cross-country skiing, and hiking, according to All Trails.


Holts Ledge

Holts Ledge near Lyme, NH, is a 3.4-mile trail that is popular for hiking and snowshoeing, All Trails said.


Gile Mountain Tower

Gile Mountain Tower near Norwich, VT, has two options: a 0.68 mile hiking trail and a longer switch-backed bike/ski trail. According to Trail Finder, at the end of the trail, you will behold great 360-degree views of the Upper Valley.


Eastman Ledges

This 2.5 mile hike near Lyme, NH, offers beautiful views of Smarts Mountain and the Jacobs Brook waterfalls, according to Norwich Trails.


French’s Ledges

In Plainfield, NH, French’s Ledges is a 1.7 mile trail that is good for hiking and mountain biking. All Trails said that the best times to visit this trail are April through October.


Brownsville Trail

For a longer hike, try Brownsville Trail. This 5.5 mile hike near West Windsor, VT, is a popular trail for birding, hiking, and snowshoeing. All Trails says that this trail is beautiful to visit yearround.

Near Perkinsville, VT, the Ascutney Summit Loop is a 5.1 mile loop. According to All Trails, it is popular for birding, hiking, and snowshoeing.
