Spring is in the air, which means it is time to get out of the house and have some fun. If you’re looking for something unique to do, there are many shows at the Lebanon Opera House this month that are sure to entertain.


BeauSoleil 50th Anniversary

On Friday, April 4 at 7:30 p.m., Cajun music legends BeauSoleil will be performing with special guest Richard Thompson.

“Born out of the rich Acadian ancestry of its members and driven by bandleader Michael Doucet’s renowned fiddle playing and soulful vocals, BeauSoleil is notorious for bringing even the most no-nonsense audience to its feet. The band’s distinctive sound is a stirring mix of New Orleans jazz, blues, rock, folk, swamp pop, Zydeco, country, and bluegrass,” the event listing said.

Trailblazing Women of Country Music

On Saturday, April 5 at 7:30 p.m., Kristina Train and Rissi Palmer backed by a five-member band of powerhouse female musicians will be honoring the legends of country music.

“This performance honors Patsy Cline’s assured contralto which affirmed that a woman can be heartbroken and sure of herself at the same time (Crazy, Walkin’ After Midnight); Loretta Lynn’s songs of autonomy attained through contraception (The Pill) and self-respect (Don’t Come Home A-Drinkin’ with Lovin’ On Your Mind); and Dolly Parton’s belief that a woman can ascend the career ladder (9-to-5) while never losing sight of her roots (Coat of Many Colors),” the event listing said.

Handel’s L’Allegro, il Penseroso ed il Moderato

On Sunday, April 6 at 3 p.m., a “dramatic setting of texts inspired by John Milton and William Shakespeare, L’Allegro, il Penseroso ed il Moderato explores joyful, sad, and “moderate” musings,” the listing said. Learn more here.


Fly Fishing Film Tour

On Thursday, April 10 at 7 p.m., short films from around the world will showcase world-class anglers and “stunning natural environments,” the event listing said.


Pink Talking Fish: Wish You Were Here 50th Anniversary Tour

On Saturday, April 12 at 7:30 p.m., “this must-see live band plays Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here in its entirety along with their signature fusion of Pink Floyd, Talking Heads, and Phish tunes,” the event said.


Follow Your Art: A New England School of the Arts Benefit Concert

On Saturday, April 26 at 7 p.m., students, faculty, and professional guest artists will be performing at a benefit concert.

“Enjoy performances from NESA’s inaugural class, Tuck’s Rock Dojo bands, Well Kept Men, the Hanover chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, Ellen Ahern, Elizabeth Chambers, Sutton Crawford, Julie Ness, Arlo Philip, and Kevin David Thomas,” the event listing said.
