South Royalton, VT 05068
Hurricane Flats was started in 1995 by Geo Honigford and Sharon O'Connor in the fertile soils along the White River, on the edge of the village of South Royalton, Vermont. In 2022, they handed the reins to Ashley Loehr and Antoine Guerlain, formerly of Sparrowbush Farm and Bakery in Hudson NY, who will continue their tradition of growing exceptional produce and caring for this unique piece of land.
Hurricane Flats grows organic vegetables, culinary herbs, and popcorn, for sale at our farm store, at the Norwich Farmers Market, and to a handful of nearby stores and restaurants. The farm store is open 7 days a week, usually starting sometime in June though Halloween or so. Please check back here or our Instagram for farm store details and updates. We also cut and sell hay, be in touch if you're interested.
We are certified organic by NOFA-VT as well as by the Real Organic Project. Our farming practices are centered on supporting innate soil health and fertility, informed by our understanding of biology and through ol' fashioned observation in the field. With the foundational thought that prevention is the best medicine, we use maximal cover cropping, mineral balancing, and biological systems thinking to manage pests and weeds.
