Join local textile artist Meredith Smith to explore the world of mending and repurposing old or worn clothing. This is a beginner friendly class, but all experience levels are welcome! This workshop will guide participants in ways to reuse, repurpose, recycle, or mend a favorite garment. Old, worn, moth-holed, or outgrown does not mean useless or headed to a land fill. Learn new and innovative ways to bring new life into a much-loved garment. Basic sewing skills are suggested but not required.
Materials suggested:
- sharp sewing scissors
- seam ripper
- pin cushion with sharp pins and needles
- thread to match garment to be worked on and basting thread
- fabric marker or tailors chalk
- (optional) sewing machine
