Macbeth
Macbeth
by William Shakespeare
September 28 – October 23
To open its Twentieth Anniversary Season, Northern Stage will present Shakespeare for the first time in five years with the iconic tragedy Macbeth. Full of sound and fury, the “Scottish play” follows Lord and Lady Macbeth on their bloody path to the throne. Shakespeare’s shortest tragedy probes the deepest realms of human nature, finding dark truths that still resonate with our world. Gripping and intense, Macbeth remains one of the most dramatic plays ever written and is a fitting tribute to the Bard in the year 2016, the 400th anniversary of our greatest playwright’s death.
