11 Fun Things to Do This Summer in the Upper Valley

There are many different classes to choose from all summer long. Some highlights include Basic Drawing, Making Glass Ornaments, Painting, Print Making and Sculpture. Check out the full schedule of classes on the website.
12th Annual Skip Matthews Memorial Run
Fathers Day is Sunday, June 21. Take a stroll on the Green in Lebanon, N.H. You can walk, run, jog, skip anywhere from 1 to 4 miles with a fun family barbecue to follow, hosted by Salt Hill Pub. Donations will be made in honor of Skip’s Run brain tumor research.
Mount Sunapee Resort
Guided Canopy Zip-Line Tours start June 20 and run through Sept. 7. Open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m, reservations are strongly recommended. Located at Mount Sunapee’s South Peak, featuring zip-lines, rope bridges and rappelling as you descend. The cost is $79 per person for a 2-and-a-half hour tour. Visitors must be 10 years or older and between 80 and 250 pounds.
Lebanon Opera House
Coming June 20, the Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band will preform a ton of old and new stuff. Shepard has sold millions of albums worldwide and received five Grammy nominations. This contemporary blues band has awaken the interest in the Blues genre.
The Prouty
The Annual Prouty race is back in its 34th season, taking place July 10-11. The event supports cancer research and patient services at DHMC, Norris Cotton Cancer Center. You can walk, run, jog, cycle, golf, row or even volunteer this event.
New London Hospital Days
July 30 - Aug. 2, the event has a variety of activities.
Activities include Movie night, Crafts, Readings, Kayak Poker Run, Fire Department Open House, Teddy Bear Workshop, Meet the Chamber for live music and networking, Tricycle Grad Prix, Trianothon, and so much more.

Fairlee Drive-In Theater
Hop in the car and take a step back in time. The Fairlee offers current and old movies playing all summer long. With a full snack bar including burgers, hot dogs, french fries, popcorn, candy and ice cream, this fun, nostalgic night will sure be a crowed pleaser.
Whale's Tale Waterpark
Located in Lincoln, N.H., this family-fun day getaway will sure please your entire family. With a waves pool and plenty of slides to entertain the whole family, this summer place will not disappoint.

King Arthur Flour
There are classes just about every day at this facility. You name it, they have it, including classes for home bakers, new home chefs, pastry specialists and more. The schedule comes out monthly on the website, so make sure you grab your spot as soon as you can. Prices vary depending on which class and can run anywhere from 1 to 5 hours.
Paddle Power
This is a 2-day river adventure, where paddlers in canoes and kayaks journey along 25 miles of the Connecticut River to raise money for the West Central Behavior Heath’s Emergency Services Program. Anyone can participate as an individual paddler, a member of a team, a volunteer or even a sponsor. This event takes place starting on Aug. 15.
