A burger by any other name would most likely not meet such undisputed success. As the sibling restaurant of its South Royalton namesake, The Worthy Burger, The Kitchen’s burger is a slam dunk in this town too. Two smashed local farm beef patties (100% grass-fed, ‘natch), cheese, lettuce, red onion, wicked dill pickles on a Worthy bun w/ secret sauce & fries earns rave reviews. Four stars out of 437 reviews with Yelpers rhapsodizing that it “makes their heart happy” and some admitting they even went back the next day for a second round.
Awarded four stars from Yelper critics, Skunk Hollow is a local mainstay that seems to only get better with age (and a personal favorite for this writer). The Hollow Burger tops the Yelp list as one of the most popular items on the menu. Humongous, grass-fed, cooked to order served with LTO alongside hand-cut fries. It’s how we do it out here in the Green Mountain State.
Good old-fashioned road food that’s been around since 1957, this throwback dairy bar is known for its char-grilled burgers that have withstood the test of time. With sides like giant onion rings, mozzarella sticks, slaw and/ or fries, you can go plain or with cheese or all-out loaded bacon cheeseburger and still have room in your wallet for ice cream. Whatever you fancy, 8 out of 9 Yelpers give the burger 3 to 5 stars. With a rootbeer float? Yes, please. Seasonal. The opening date for 2020 is May 1st.
Set inside the upscale Woodstock Inn, is the more casual
tavern. The dark and cozy restaurant has Yelper’s describing the burger as
“classic comfort food” heaping as much praise on this burger as there is
topping it. The Captain Richardson’s Burger is a fan favorite piled high with
local Angus burger, crispy onions, Alehouse cheddar cheese, local smokehouse
bacon on a housemade bun with your choice of salad or fries.
A school bus turned food truck turned Vermont oasis, Chef Brad Pirkey introduced one of the area’s first food trucks in 2012 with his CrazySide Cafe. In 2016, he planted its roots in Quechee and has continued serving up coastal-inspired cuisine ever since. Like the vibrant, beach themed decor, The Lamb Burger is a somewhat exotic take and a rare find in this area that majority of reviewers award five stars.
