For many of us, going out for ice cream can be fulfilling as both a tradition and a rewarding treat after a long, hot summer day. Ice Cream Fore-U in West Lebanon is ready to serve up scoops, satisfy your sweet tooth, and beat the heat daily from 11 am to 9 pm. Owners Jennifer and Meredith shared everything you need to know about their offerings this summer, including new flavors to try, non-dairy options, and other delicious menu items.

Q: When is Ice Cream Fore-U open? When do you close for the season?

A: Generally, we open around the beginning of May. We hope to remain open until the end of September if our staffing allows. Open daily from 11 am to 9 pm.

Q: Where are you located?

A: We are located in the Home Depot parking lot along with Golf & Ski Warehouse and Fore-U Golf Center in West Lebanon, NH.

Q: What types of ice cream or other treats do you offer?

A: We offer ice cream made by Gifford's (out of Maine), Bliss (out of Massachusetts), and Hood. We offer over 45 flavors of hard ice cream, soft-serve ice cream, sundaes, shakes, smoothies, Italian ice, slushies, and more. You can also make a lunch of it with our 1/4 lb steamed hot dogs!

Q: What are your most popular ice cream flavors?

A: Our most popular flavors vary every season...this year, people are really enjoying Sea Salt Caramel Truffle, Maine Black Bear, Cookie Dough, Oreo, and Mint Chocolate Chip. Customers love the chocolate and vanilla mix soft serve. Black raspberry and maple are two highly desired soft serve flavors as well.

Q: Do you offer non-dairy options?

A: We always carry two dairy-free flavors of sorbet, as well as eight flavors of Italian ice, slushies, and smoothies made without the dairy base. We also offer non-dairy popsicles.

Q: Any new ice cream flavors or other menu items this season?

A: The new flavors we are trying are Banana Cream Pie (banana ice cream swirled with whipped cream and vanilla wafer cookies), Maine Black Fly (vanilla ice cream with a strawberry swirl and mini chocolate chips), and Black Forest Cherry Fudge (chocolate ice cream with a cherry swirl and fudgy truffles). We will also introduce some exciting new toppings that include cotton candy crunch, unicorn bark, brownie bites, and cupcake bites.

Q: What is your favorite part about your job?

A: Our favorite part of our job is seeing the joyful looks on customers' faces when we open for the season and passing out their favorite treat...we love making people happy and providing a service that families and friends enjoy with each other.

Q: What's an order that you love that more people should try?

A: One of our favorite sundaes is Reese’s sundae. It consists of soft vanilla serve, hot fudge, peanut butter sauce, Reese’s Pieces, whipped cream, and a cherry on top!

Q: What do you want people to know about Ice Cream Fore-U?

A: Ice Cream Fore-U is currently celebrating our 25th season in 2022! We are a family-owned and operated shop. We like to say that all our employees get welcomed into that environment and become part of the "Fore-U Family." We love being a part of the community and a summertime hot spot!
