Any easy way to eat healthy and support local businesses is by dining at restaurants that are farm-to-table. There are several options in the Upper Valley. Here are a few to check out:


Pine

Jasper Murdock’s Alehouse

Simon Pearce Restaurant

The Lyme Inn 

Ariana’s Restaurant at The Lyme Inn in Lyme, NH, is a reincarnation of the restaurant that features popular items throughout the years. Seasonal soups and salads are also available.

“We work with local farms for much of our product and, for items not locally available, use ethical suppliers a bit farther away. We do not source from factory farms. Our ultimate goal is to offer the best quality product, and local, sustainable, and ethically raised provides that,” the website said.


Carpenter & Main 

Located in Norwich, VT, Carpenter & Main has a frequently changing menu that features items like Steak au poivre, duck confit, and other French classics.

“The seasons are an integral part of life here in Vermont, and we love to share our joy of exploring their abundance and variety. We use goods from local farms year-round to help integrate the spirit and distinctive flavors of Vermont,” Chef and Owner Bruce MacLeod said on the website.


King Arthur Baking Company

The King Arthur Baking Company’s cafe in Norwich, VT, uses local ingredients to make it’s delicious baked goods.

“We search for creameries with the finest dairy. We source responsibly raised meat from nearby butchers. We bring unique, creative, small-batch specialty ingredients to Vermont. Our pasta is fresh. Our honey is local. Our sandwiches and salads are created to highlight the best of the region, from fresh Vermont basil in our pesto to sweet Vermont berry jam on our toast. We're excited to share a taste with you,” the website said.
